Here's what's included
• 1 × plastic insert ring, Ø 85 mm
• 4 × mounting screws
The plastic insert ring is the wear part in the lid of the RUWI router table Classic Performance: It ensures a gap-free transition between the table opening and the router bit. You screw the ring—Ø 85 mm, made of machinable PE—into place using the four screws provided; it is pre-drilled, and during the first start-up, the router bit enlarges the opening to match its own outer diameter. You’re familiar with this principle from the insert plate on a table saw: the gap between the tool and the opening is reduced to zero.
This results in two benefits in everyday workshop operations: Small and narrow workpieces can no longer tip over or get wedged in the gap—providing greater safety and cleaner edges at the milling site. And because there’s hardly any clearance around the milling cutter, the exhaust system works more effectively right there.
Here's how to use it
- Milling delicate parts: Molding strips and small parts run along the closed surface—nothing falls into the gap, and the edge doesn't chip.
- One ring per cutter: For standard tools, there’s a milled ring in the cabinet for each one—just screw it in, and the zero clearance is restored immediately.
- Replacement in minutes: remove four screws, insert a new ring—the wear part is inexpensive, and the cover stays in place.
Does this go with your router table?
The ring is part of the RUWI router table Classic Performance series. The standard insert ring (Ø 46 mm) is available for the Basic, Classic, and Premium models—these two are not interchangeable.
