An alternative to the “Fritz and Franz” sawing aid
Many woodworkers are familiar with the “Fritz und Franz” sawing aid—developed by the employers’ liability insurance association—which ensures safe sawing of small workpieces. It’s a proven and affordable solution. The RUWI and sawing system takes it two steps further: You can secure the workpiece tool-free onto the sliding carriage—without an additional crosscut fence—and can also clamp it at an angle, which makes all the difference when making miter and wedge cuts. For cutting small parts only, “Fritz und Franz” remains the simple choice; but if you regularly need to cut angled, long, or warped workpieces safely, the RUWI offers a more convenient solution.
Workplace Safety That Doesn't Take Any Time
In everyday workshop life, there’s often little time for workplace safety—even though it’s crucial to your health. The RUWI takes the guesswork out of it: slot the clamping cylinder into the slot from above, rotate it 90°, and clamp it in place—in about 10 seconds, the workpiece is secured, and you’re complying with BGHM recommendations with minimal effort. The clamping cylinders and pressure plates adjust to accommodate large, small, and complex-shaped parts, so you can work safely even without a second person. Because you stand upright and apply the clamping force the ergonomic handle, this system is easy on your back during long cutting runs.
