The idea behind it

From our experience as cabinetmakers, we know that milling a groove or a cove parallel to a curved contour used to be a tricky task. We wanted a solution that’s as flexible as our customers’ creative ideas. With the curve fence, this can be achieved on any inner or outer radius directly on the router table —without templates, without complicated auxiliary constructions, simply by continuously adjusting the curve.

With the RUWI curve fence, you can mill profiles, grooves, and coves parallel to a curved contour—on both inner and outer radii—without a template or auxiliary construction. The curved fence made of flexible plastic (340 × 55 mm) adjusts continuously to the curve; you guide the workpiece along the curved edge of the fence, creating round tabletops, curved furniture parts, or curved seats with clean, even edges.

The curve fence is mounted to the fence using a knurled screw and can be used at any drive spindle by sliding it sideways—after you're done, hang it on the right outer side of the machine frame.

Here's how to use it

  • Profiling round panels: The tabletop runs with its rounded edge along the curve fence—the profile remains at the same distance from the edge throughout.
  • Inner and outer radii in a single setup: the flexible fence bends in both directions—convex and concave—without refitting.
  • Copy the curve instead of building a template: Place the arc against the workpiece, clamp it in place, and mill—no need for a template.
  • Moving between spindles: Shifted sideways, the fence works at every drive unit of the table.
