The most challenging situations with the sliding table saw don’t arise with large panels—but rather with pieces that are small, narrow, angled, or wedge-shaped. In those cases, your hand inevitably has to get closer to the saw blade, and that’s exactly where accidents happen. The RUWI Classic sawing system takes this task off your hands: You clamp the workpiece onto the sliding carriage, flip the lever, and make the cut—keeping your hand in the safe zone. Tested by the German Workers’ Compensation Association for the Wood and Metal Industries (BGHM) and awarded the DGUV seal of approval.
The system uses the existing slot from your sliding table saw: Insert the clamping cylinder into the slot , rotate it 90 degrees, and tighten. Attach the swivel arm, place the pressure plate on the workpiece, and tighten the clamping lever – tool-free – ready for use in about 10 seconds. The swivel clamp rotates 360° and clamps up to a height of 135 mm; the feed stop and angled auxiliary stop (Multiplex, painted, with rubber edge) can be adjusted at tool-free .
Here's how to use it
-
Cutting small and wedge-shaped pieces: The workpiece is clamped onto the carriage—you guide the carriage, not the piece next to the blade.
-
Bevel and miter cuts: The adjustable guide sets the angle, and the clamp holds the workpiece in place at an angle—even where it would otherwise tend to slip.
-
Ready in seconds: Insert the clamping cylinder, attach the arm, close the lever—no need to search for Allen wrenches or other keys; the guard is installed faster than it can be bypassed.
-
Organization with the “ wall panel ”: The included sheet metal panel (620 × 420 mm) keeps all parts within easy reach next to the saw—so the protective cover isn’t tucked away in a drawer but is right at your fingertips.
-
Training and Certification: Occupational safety in accordance with BG standards for carpentry shops, training companies, and apprenticeship workshops.
Does this go with your sliding table saw?
When placing your order, select the swivel arm that matches your saw model—the arm length is designed to fit the respective slide groove: Altendorf (100 mm), Format 4 (130 mm), Martin (170 mm), Felder X-Roll (130 mm), and Hammer Series 3 (75 mm). If your saw isn’t listed, select “Other Manufacturers”—we’ll check the fit individually before shipping.
If you regularly trim long planks on your own, the Premium System —with a second swivel clamp and narrow auxiliary stops—is the right choice for you; you can upgrade an existing Classic system with the single swivel clamp to the Premium configuration.
