The gas spring reliably holds the lid of your RUWI milling table open while you change tools. If it loses its tension after a few years—the lid starts to sag or won’t stay open—you can replace it yourself: Remove the retaining rings, take out the old spring, insert the new one, reattach the rings, and you’re done. Each set comes with the matching spring steel retaining rings and is designed to match the lid weight of the respective model.

Here's how to use it

Recognizing a loss of support: If the open lid sinks slowly, the spring is worn out—replacing it will restore stability during tool changes.
Replace it yourself: two retaining rings per spring, no special tools required—the cover will be secure again in just a few minutes.
Counting correctly: the Basic model requires one spring; the Classic, Classic Performance, and Premium models each require two—the set includes the correct number of springs for each model, along with the corresponding rings.

Does this go with your router table?

When ordering, select the version based on the model: Basic (1 spring), Classic (2 springs—also for the Classic Performance), or Premium (2 springs); each spring has a mounting hole diameter of 6 mm. The set is compatible with models manufactured up to approximately 2024. The tables show the RUWI router tables; if replacing the springs on the lid doesn’t help, please contact us via the contact page —we’ll find a solution.
