The KSS 60 cc handles almost all interior finishing work on its own: KVH and framing lumber up to 61 mm on the crosscut fence, miters up to 60° in both directions, the longest crosscut length in the series—and as a hand-held circular saw mounted on the F-fence, it can cut panels as well. One machine in a case instead of two in a van.

The 1,800-watt CUprex motor delivers: 61 mm on the rail, 67 mm free, 408 mm cutting length at 6.1 kg. The retract mechanism automatically pulls the saw back after the cut; the FLIPPKEIL remains on the saw as a kickback guard and folds away for plunge cuts. And it uses the same Ø 185-mm blade range as the K 65—so if you have both in operation, you only need one set of blades.

Buying the Mafell saw at RUWI isn’t something you should take for granted: We’re manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell factory in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry products that we can recommend based on our own experience—and when the competition has an edge, we’ll let you know.

Here's how to use it

  • Cut KVH up to 61 mm: with consistent accuracy against the guide cam—the return pull brings the saw back.
  • Miters up to 60° in both directions: one marking pointer for each angle.
  • Turn it into a circular saw with the push of a button: mounted on the F-rail, it handles panel cutting.
  • Blade set: Ø 185 × 20 mm – same blade set as the K 65.

Does this fit in your workshop?

For cuts over 61 mm on the guide rail, the KSS 80 takes over; batch cutting of small cross-sections at a fixed station remains Erika’s job. And a candid look at Festool: The FSK concept pairs the HKC 55 cordless saw with miter rails up to 670 mm wide—those who regularly cut wider than 408 mm will get more cutting width there, though in the 55-mm depth class and without the dual roller without modification. The KSS 60 proves its worth where depth, dual roller, and weight all matter.

You can read about why your vacuum should be Dust Class M in the knowledge article on wood dust extraction —and the Machine Advisor will help you find the right saw by asking you two or three questions.
