The crosscut where nothing slips: The workpiece is held firmly against the stop, and you pull the moving blade through—not the other way around. After the cut, the saw unit automatically returns to its starting position and locks into place. When locked in the rear position, the same machine functions as a table saw with a rip fence. Mafell was the first manufacturer to build the under-table pull saw (according to the manufacturer)—the Erika is the original model of this design.

The Erika 70 falls between the 60 and the 85: 72 mm cutting height, 330 mm stroke length, 37.2 kg. The 2,250-watt CUprex motor runs at continuously , adjustable from 2,050 to 4,300 min⁻¹—allowing you to cut not only solid wood but also coated panels, aluminum profiles, and acrylic. It also features sensor-controlled LED work lights, soft start, constant speed under load, and restart protection after a power outage.

The fact that you’re buying them at RUWI isn’t a given: We’re the manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell plant in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry only what we can recommend from our own experience, and we build our own accessories for the system—the RUWI table extensiontool-free clamps onto the dovetail profile.

Here's how to use it

  • Cutting to length, individually and in batches: precise and repeatable according to the scale—the workpiece is securely held in place, and the blade moves toward the wood.
  • Set up on site: The Quickstand folds out t tool-free , with leveling for uneven subfloors—no trestles, no table, working height 891 mm.
  • Miters and bevel cuts: Saw blade can be tilted from –3° to 48°; at 45°, the cutting height is still 49 mm—angle cuts are made using the same stop as for straight cuts.
  • Cutting small pieces: What would slip on a construction site table saw stays securely in place against the stop here.
  • To convert into a sawing station: The dovetail profile accommodates a sliding carriage (cross-sections up to 905 mm), a stop ruler, and an extension table tool-free .

Does this fit in your workshop?

For material thicknesses of 72 mm or more, the Erika 85 is the right choice. If you often have to carry the saw by yourself and can manage with a cutting height of 61 mm, the Erika 60 —weighing just 22.2 kg—is the lighter option; it doesn’t have adjustable speed and comes with its own, smaller set of accessories. A construction site table saw can handle rough longitudinal cuts of lumber for a fraction of the price. And the Erika is no substitute for a sliding table saw: Cutting standard-size panels in full formats is best left to the stationary machine.

Since 2023, the stops have been secured with tension levers instead of wing screws; you can retrofit older machines.

The Erika comes with two dust extraction ports as standard—one at the top of the protective hood and one at the bottom of the table. You decide what to connect to them—the reason why you should use a vacuum cleaner rated for dust class M when dealing with wood dust is explained in the knowledge article on wood dust extraction.

And if you're still undecided between the three Erika models, the machine advisor will help you find the right saw by asking you just a few questions.
