From imperial and royal company to global company
The beginnings of the large company based in Linz, Austria, began with a metalworking shop founded in 1838. Its founder’s name was Joseph Schachermayer. His son initially expanded the business into an ironmongery and thus into one of the most successful companies in the Imperial and Royal monarchy.
