The sanding belt holder is a slotted holder (Ø 30 mm) onto which you slide a sanding belt sleeve. This allows you to cleanly sand inner radii, drill holes, and cutouts. With the sleeve attached, you’ll be working with a diameter of approximately Ø 33 mm; the smallest inner radius is about R16.5.

The slot is the key to its design: at low speeds, the carrier expands slightly and clamps the sleeve from the inside—it fits securely without glue or screws and can be removed and replaced while the machine is stationary. The shank (Ø 6 mm, steel with zinc-nickel coating) works in any machine with a 6-mmcollet —important note: maximum 19,000 rpm.

Here's how to use it

  • Finishing cutouts: Smooth out the sawed-out openings for sinks, electrical outlets, and handles all the way to the curves—where an orbital sander can’t reach.
  • Smoothing Drill Holes: Forstner and hole saw drill holes with a diameter of 33 mm or larger are given smooth walls.
  • Changing the sleeve while the machine is running: remove the old one, slide on the new one, and continue grinding—switch from coarse to fine grit in seconds.
  • Guiding along the table: With the “ router table ,” the backing plate is fixed in place, and you guide the workpiece—resulting in even pressure and a consistent finish.

Will this fit your machine?

The shank requires a 6-mmcollet —on the RUWI router tables, it is available as an optional collet; hand-held routers accept it directly. The key factor is the speed: no more than 19,000 rpm —you can adjust the RUWI router tables accordingly.

The appropriate sanding belt sleeve (Ø 30) is a wear part and is not included—it is available in grits 50, 80, and 150. For smaller radii starting at R9, use the sanding belt holder (Ø 15); additional tools are listed in the overview of RUWI milling tools.
