Which cutter is right for your project?

The Milling Cutter Advisor guides you from the workpiece to the right milling cutter in just a few questions.

The RUWI Miniature Chamfering Cutter creates a 45° chamfer on edges—to round off sharp edges and produce clean chamfers on solid wood, wood-based materials, and coated panels. Its contact ring measures just Ø 5 mm: This allows you to reach tight inner radii and inside corners where a standard chamfering bit with a larger bearing would get stuck and leave a step. With a Ø 10 mm head, 5 mm working length , and 34 mm overall length , it remains small and maneuverable.

The milling cutter is made of solid carbide ( solid carbide , VHM) with six cutting edges (Z6), right-hand rotation. Six cutting edges instead of two mean more cuts per revolution—which gives the small chamfer a fine, clean finish. Fixed-tooth: When it becomes dull, it is sent for regrinding.

Here's how to use it

  • Chamfering inside corners: In cutouts, recessed handles, and frame corners, the 5-mm ring extends almost all the way to the corner—where the larger bearing of a standard chamfering cutter ends well before reaching it.
  • Subtle bevels on small parts: drawer fronts, moldings, and small furniture pieces are given a subtle bevel that matches the scale.
  • Chamfering edges on the mounted piece: the short, lightweight router can be guided by hand even in areas where the workpiece can no longer reach the table.
  • Smoothing Out Cutouts: Cable openings and milled cutouts are chamfered all around—even along tight contours.

Does this fit your router?

The “ shank ” (Ø 6 mm) requires a 6-mm “collet ”—on the “ RUWI ” router tables, it is available as an optional “ collet ” (item no. 30400); router bodies can mount it directly. The compatible tables are shown in the RUWI router tables.

For larger chamfers on open edges, the solid chamfering cutter and the chamfering cutter with an indexable insert are the more robust tools; additional cutters are shown in the overview of RUWI milling tools.
