Solid structural lumber, purlin cuts, thick planks: The KSS 80 cuts up to 82 mm on the L-guide, tilts up to 60° for miter cuts—and transforms into a free-standing 88-mm handheld circular saw at the push of a button. The machine for businesses—from carpentry shops to timber construction firms—that need mobile, heavy-duty cutting: 2,300-watt CUprex motor, 370 mm cutting length, 8.4 kg, 10 m cable as standard.

The spring-loaded FLIPPKEIL automatically slides into the saw kerf as it is inserted—the kickback protection remains part of the machine. And as for the question of which generation to choose, honestly: Its predecessor, the KSS 80 Ec/370, is still available in the product line at the same list price and with identical cutting specifications. What’s truly new about the 2025 model is the one-hand blade change, the magnesium base plate, the moving cutline indicator, a weight reduction of 400 g, and a 10-meter cable instead of a 4-meter one—so you can make your decision based on the facts.

Buying the Mafell saw at RUWI isn’t something you should take for granted: We’re manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell factory in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry only what we can recommend from our own experience—including the gaps in our lineup: There’s no cordless version of the 80 series, and we’ll let you know that before you even start looking.

Here's how to use it

  • Cut KVH and Bohlen to 82 mm: on the L guide, with repeatable accuracy up to 370 mm.
  • Make bevel cuts up to 60°: full swivel range, miter angles from −60° to +50°.
  • A hand-held circular saw at the push of a button: 88 mm free-standing or on the F-rail.
  • Blade size: Ø 237 × 30 mm – same blade configuration as the K 85.

Does this fit in your workshop?

Carpentry begins at 82 mm on the rail—the MKS line, which we have deliberately chosen not to carry; the reasoning is explained on the page “What We Don’t Carry—and Why.” Cap lengths over 370 mm run on the F-rail or freely. And for those who never max out the 80-depth capacity, the KSS 60 cc is more affordable and 2.3 kg lighter—often the better choice for pure interior finishing work.

You can read about why your vacuum should be Dust Class M in the knowledge article on wood dust extraction —and the Machine Advisor will help you find the right saw by asking you two or three questions.
