The KSS 50 cc cuts framing lumber, battens, and KVH up to 52 mm on a horizontal workpiece—on roofs, scaffolding, and construction sites where a stationary crosscut saw can’t reach. And it’s two machines in one: With the push of a button, you can detach it from the miter rail and use it as a handheld circular saw on the F guide rail—cutting panels with the same saw, without any modifications.

52 mm on the crosscut fence, 58 mm free, 407 mm cutting length, miter angles from −60° to +60° at 5.4 kg. The pivot point is located at the bottom edge of the fence: a marking pointer for each angle position ensures you always align with the same line. The recoil mechanism automatically pulls the saw back after the cut; the FLIPPKEIL remains in place as a kickback guard and folds away for plunge cuts. It shares the Ø 168-mm blade range with the K 55.

The fact that you’re buying the Mafell saw at RUWI isn’t a given: We’re manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell factory in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry products that we can recommend based on our own experience—and when it comes to the classic question, “40, 50, or 60?” we’d rather give you an honest answer than a convenient one.

Here's how to use it

  • Cutting KVH and framing lumber: up to 52 mm on a horizontal workpiece—on a roof, scaffolding, or construction site.
  • Switch to a circular saw at the push of a button: from the crosscut fence to the F-fence—cut panels without having to make any adjustments.
  • Set miter angles: −60° to +60°, with repeatable accuracy using the guide cams.
  • Making insertion cuts: Fold out the FLIPPKEIL, insert it, then fold it back—the anti-kickback device stays in place.

Does this fit in your workshop?

We’ll answer the most frequently asked question about this product line right away: If 90% of your work involves cutting flooring, panels, and sheets and you want to save weight, the 40-mm class (KSS 300 / KSS 40) is the better choice. If you need more than 58 mm or want to share blades with the K 65, go for the KSS 60 cc —in the community, the jump from 50 to 60 is considered the more worthwhile one. The KSS 50 cc is the right choice in one clear-cut scenario: mains-powered operation, material thicknesses up to 52 mm on the rail, and compatibility with the K 55’s 168-series blades. If that fits your profile, go for it—if not, we’d rather tell you right now where you belong.

You can read about why your vacuum should be Dust Class M in the knowledge article on wood dust extraction —and the Machine Advisor will help you find the right saw by asking you two or three questions.
