The Erika 85 is the solution for businesses that want to work with repeatable precision without a “ sliding table saw ”—or that want to take it to the job site: 85 mm solid wood in table saw mode, crosscuts up to 430 mm in a single pass, small-batch production in a workshop, and trade show construction. Mafell claims that the cut length, cutting height, and 2,500-watt motor are unmatched (manufacturer’s specification). After the cut, the blade returns automatically.
The multifunction fence is included as standard—with zero-point compensation: The numerical value on the length fence is accurate at any angle setting. When cutting an incorrect miter with the multifunction fence, you don’t have to do any conversions. The infinitely variable speed handles not only solid wood but also laminated panels, aluminum profiles, and acrylic. The weight is also moderate: one person can move the 40 kg unit on their own.
The fact that you’re buying them at RUWI isn’t a given: We’re manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell plant in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry only what we can recommend from our own experience, and we build our own accessories for the system—the RUWI table extension provide support for long workpieces as a support surface and outfeed guide.
Here's how to use it
-
Cutting boards and square lumber: 85 mm in table saw mode—solid wood in a single pass, not in two cuts from both sides
-
Cutting long pieces in one pass: 430 mm cut length—a 40-series shelf without a sliding carriage.
-
Adjusting the miter and cutting to length – Zero-point compensation on the multifunction stop: The set length value is accurate at any angle.
-
Upgrade to a sawing station: sliding carriage (cut width up to 905 mm), extension table, and parallel guide tool-free mounted on the dovetail rail.
Does this fit in your workshop?
If your thickest material is no more than 72 mm thick and 330 mm of pull is sufficient, theErika 70 is usually the right choice for interior construction. If you carry materials up and down floors by yourself every day, check out the Erika 60 first—it weighs 22.2 kg instead of 40. And the Erika cannot replace an sliding table saw : cutting full-size panels in series is still best done on a stationary machine.
Since 2023, the stops have been secured with tension levers instead of wing screws; you can retrofit older machines.
