The RUWI Vertical toggle clamp holds your workpiece in place on the table from above—a toggle clamp for the 20 mm hole grid. Using the stainless steel clamping bolt with an Allen screw (SW 6), you can secure it at any grid position; with a length of 244 mm, it comfortably spans panels, frames, and individual parts that you want to secure while milling, drilling, or sawing.

Its advantage is the infinitely variable height adjustment of up to 40 mm: Once roughly adjusted, the lever compensates for varying material thicknesses without requiring you to readjust. When opened, the arm automatically retracts 35 mm and releases the workpiece—the changeover is quick, especially for production runs. It is manufactured in Germany.

Here's how to use it

  • Hold the workpiece down while milling and drilling: the workpiece rests firmly on the table, and both hands remain on the machine and the guide rather than on the material.
  • Batch processing: Open the lever, the arm lifts 35 mm, change the part, close the lever—the height setting remains the same; only the workpiece changes.
  • Clamping materials of varying thicknesses: The 40-mm shim accommodates a 19-mm panel and a 40-mm plank one after the other without having to adjust the spindle.
  • Combine with the counterpart: the vertical toggle clamp holds from above, while the horizontal toggle clamp presses against the fence from the side—the workpiece is secured in both directions.

Does this go with your table?

The clamping bolt fits into any 20 mm hole grid – any RUWI lifting table, Festool MFT, Sauter Variobench, and homemade workbenches. If you need more clamping force and are using screws for this, the Bessey TW 16 screw clamp is the stronger alternative; the side is clamped by the horizontal toggle clamp. If you need a twist-resistant hold even under transverse forces, there’s the vertical toggle clamp with a round adapter plate —it anchors with two clamping bolts in the grid.
