Accessories

The hand-held router is the tool that comes to the workpiece: door panels, stair stringers, countertops, and assembled cabinet bodies. The LO 55 is the lightweight machine for the job, weighing just 3.1 kg: 55 mm cutting depth, 1,100 W, 8 mm collet. Grooves with the parallel fence, recesses, chamfers, rebates, and rows of holes in solid wood and panel materials, both in the workshop and on-site.

Changing the cutter requires no tools: Release the clamping lever, replace the cutter, and fold the lever back into place. The cutting depth is permanently locked (Permafix); pressing the Permafix button releases it for adjustment; the step stop with height lock maintains consistent depths. You can set the speed from 10,000 to 24,000 min⁻¹; the Deboost function reduces it for end-grain cutting. The MAFELL IPC electronics maintain a constant speed under load, protect against overload and restart, and colored LEDs indicate the operating status. The dust extraction system is integrated into the base plate, and widely spaced LEDs illuminate the routing area.

Here's how to use it

  • Grooves and rebates: with the included parallel fence with fine adjustment, secured to the base plate with two wing screws.
  • 32 mm hole rows on the cabinet: Use the LO-FA router adapter on the F 80-LR guide rail; disable Permafix for this.
  • Templates: 20-, 30-, and 40-mm copying rings are included; 17- and 24-mm rings are available as accessories (209851, 209850).
  • Dust extraction: 29 mm connection; dust extraction adapters for freehand use and for the F rail are included. Why wood dust calls for a dust class M extractor is explained in the article on wood dust extraction.

Does this fit in your workshop?

The collet is 8 mm; reducer sleeves for 6 mm (207946) and 1/4 inch (207947) are available as accessories; 12-mm shanks do not fit. As a starter kit, we offer the LO-FS8 6T router bit set with six 8-mm router bits; our RUWI shank cutters with 8 mm shanks fit the same collet.
