Mafell BST 460 S Drilling Station

The strut does not meet the beam at a right angle—yet the hole for the connector must still be precisely aligned. That is exactly what the S Drilling Station is designed for: it features the same guided single-column mechanism as the Basic Station, plus the ability to swivel up to 45° on both sides, adjusted via a scale and lockable at 0°.

The key design feature: The drill bit tip, which is flush with the base plate, serves as the pivot axis. You start at the marking notch, pivot to the angle—and the starting point stays where you marked it, instead of shifting when you tilt the machine. The Iris drill guide with six rollers accommodates drill bits from 8 to 30 mm; the retractable cable with adjustable tension pulls the machine back after each stroke. The BST 650 S accommodates auger bits up to 650 mm in length and drills to a depth of 455 mm—ideal for timber-frame construction and solid beams; the BST 460 S is more compact at 460/265 mm. Mounting: any drill with a 43-mm collet—station sold without drill or auger bit.

• Angled drilling according to the scale: up to 45° on both sides – struts, head bands, angled connectors.
• Stay on the mark: Use the drill bit tip as the pivot point—the starting point does not shift when angling.
• Deep into the beam: drill bit lengths up to 650 mm and a depth of 455 mm with the BST 650 S.
• Series and punch patterns: Copy insert plus stencil—also guided in a swiveled position.

The S-Station is a worthwhile investment if you regularly drill at angles—in timber-frame construction, structural timber engineering, and for railing and stair connections.
