The idea behind it
Jörg Hezel
Brief description
The clamping bracket securely and flushly connects an aluminum profile with an 8 mm groove to a 20 mm perforated panel. On one side, the bracket engages in the profile groove; on the other, a stainless steel clamping bolt (Ø 20 mm) fits into the perforated table’s hole. This allows you to mount stops, supports, and custom fixtures made from system profiles directly onto the work surface.
The fastening is secured with an Allen screw: when tightened, wedge-shaped pieces in the bolt spread apart and clamp it in the hole—ensuring a secure hold even under lateral loads. Because the connection is exceptionally flat, it adds virtually no bulk, and workpieces glide smoothly across the table without any protrusions.
On the profile side, the bracket fits item profiles (I-type) from the Series 8 in the 40-mm system, as well as item-compatible profiles from other manufacturers. On the table side, the 20-mm bolt fits into any standard hole pattern—in the RUWI lifting table and milling table as well as in the Festool MFT or the Sauter Variobench. This allows you to combine the industry standard for aluminum profiles with your existing hole-pattern table.
If you're looking for a ready-made, quick-to-install support instead of building your own custom profiles, check out the RUWI 20 mm support rail —it comes complete with clamping brackets and a clamping lever. You can find additional connecting elements under "Adapters and Stops."
