The idea behind it

The support rails hold your workpiece as if it were glued in place. Open sides make clamping with screw clamps easy. With our own clamping technology, the support rails can be attached quickly and without tools and can even extend the width of the table and work surface.

Brief description

The RUWI support rail is a 40 × 40 mm aluminum profile with a non-slip surface and two clamping brackets with stainless steel clamping bolts (Ø 20 mm)—available in lengths of 80 or 120 cm. Thanks to the tool-free clamping levers, it can be mounted in seconds on any table with a 20-mm hole pattern: RUWI lift table, Festool MFT, Sauter Variobench, or your homemade workbench.

It serves three purposes at once. Workpiece support: The non-slip surface holds boards and panels securely in place through friction, allowing you to saw, rout, or sand them without needing additional clamps. Guide: Positioned parallel to the edge of the workpiece, it provides a fixed reference point for precise, repeatable cuts—whether straight, angled, or mitered. Table extension: When extended beyond the table edge, the support surface for doors, cabinet sides, or planks becomes significantly larger. The 15 mm thick support base also makes the rail a secure sawing surface—even if the cutting depth is set slightly too deep, the saw blade has clearance downward without cutting into the table.

The open steel caps at the ends of the profiles allow clamps to be inserted and secured both vertically and horizontally—compatible with Festool FSZ, Bessey GTR, and similar rail clamps. For most jobs, you’ll need two rails so the workpiece is supported on both sides; for long planks or panels, four are recommended. A set of two rails is also available. The RUWI lifting tables provide the ideal base; you can find additional clamping devices and clamping brackets in the lifting table system.
