RUWI and Aigner
Let's join forces. To make the workshop better.
The AIGNER Contermax is a cross-clamping table designed for a task that comes up regularly in many workshops: cleanly milling profiles and counterprofiles on the end face. That’s exactly where things get tricky—milling is done across the grain, the workpiece is often narrow, and it’s easy to lose control when working freehand. The Contermax guides the workpiece smoothly and safely past the cutter; AIGNER manufactures this safety technology in Germany.
Screw a splinter block onto the continuously adjustable slide bar and clamp the workpiece in front of it—the splinter block supports the exit edge, ensuring the milled groove is tear-free. Use the rotary knob to loosen and tighten the clamp tool-free; the long, plastic-coated aluminum handle keeps your hand at a safe distance from the tool. The base body, made of anodized aluminum, is 420 mm long with a clamping length of 200 mm, providing clearance for protruding tools.
Here's how to use it
- Standard counterprofiles: Frame moldings and fronts run precisely along the end face—turn the knob open, next part, turn the knob closed.
- Across the grain without tearing: the splinter block catches the exit edge—the back side stays clean, without having to use scrap wood for each piece.
- Narrow parts with little contact surface: the clamping slide provides the small workpiece with the guidance it wouldn't have on its own—and gives the hand the necessary clearance.
Does this fit your router?
The Contermax works on a table router as well as on RUWI router table —anywhere where end faces need to be profiled; an instruction manual is included. The AIGNER collection features additional safety and guidance accessories.
