Which clamp holds your workpiece in place?

The Clamp Finder guides you from the workpiece to the right clamp.

The RUWI toggle clamp (Ø 20 mm) with external thread and clamping nut is screwed securely into your component—whether it’s a stop, handle, plate, bracket, or other attachment—and secures it tool-free in slot 8 or slot 10 of aluminum profiles, slotted tables, and machine tables. To do this, screw it into a matching threaded hole using its M20 × 1 external thread and lock it in place with the included clamping nut so that it remains securely fastened to the component. It is inserted from above at any point along the slot: lift the lever, press it into the slot against the spring force, rotate it 90 degrees, and flip the lever down—and the component is securely in place. To remove it, follow the steps in reverse order; the individual steps are shown in the instructions available under Downloads.

When the lever is flipped, an eccentric mechanism pulls the hammer nut upward against the undercut of the profile slot: There, it fits securely by form and is additionally clamped by the clamping force. This allows you to apply a clamping force of approximately 2.5 kN with about 100 N of hand force, which securely holds even heavier stops, holders, and fixture parts in place. The clamping height can be adjusted by up to 9 mm using the knurled ring; with a 50 mm overall height, the assembly remains low-profile. The base body is made of steel, the hammer nut is galvanised, and the eccentric lever is made of powder-coated cast aluminum, all manufactured in Germany.

Here's how to use it

  • Permanently install components: You set up stops, plates, and brackets once using the clamp; it remains permanently in the component, so no loose parts are lost during relocation. The RUWI adapter plate is also designed according to this principle , featuring two toggle clamps.
  • Handles and Lifting Aids: Attach handles equipped with clamps to the profile frame to carry, set up, or align it, and then remove them in a single step.
  • Plant and Special-Purpose Machine Construction: On profile frames and machine tables, you can mount assembled components in seconds and secure them exactly where you need them—both vertically and horizontally in side slots.
  • Fixture and Equipment Construction: You position, offset, and clamp fixture components onto the profile without having to reach for a tool, because the lever replaces the setup tool.
  • Exhibition stand construction and assembly lines: With frequently changing setups, the pre-assembled components simply come along with you, allowing you to set up and take down quickly.

Does this fit your aluminum profile?

When placing your order, select the slot width of your profile or table: slot 8 or slot 10. The clamp fits Item profiles, Item-compatible profiles, and Bosch profiles, as well as other system profiles, slotted tables, and machine tables with this slot width—the only determining factor is the slot width, not the profile size or the manufacturer.

If you need the smaller size, there is a version with a 15 mm outer thread for slot 6. If you want to clamp a component without a threaded hole, use the 20 mm toggle clamp without an outer thread, which clamps components up to 8 mm thick between the clamp and the profile. All sizes are listed in the toggle clamp overview.
