Here's what's included
1 × toggle clamp, Ø 20 mm, for slot 8 with slot nut (Item or Bosch)
Which clamp holds your workpiece in place?
The Clamp Finder guides you from the workpiece to the right clamp.
The RUWI toggle clamp (Ø 20 mm) secures workpieces, stops, and guide elements tool-free in the slot of aluminum profiles and slotted tables, and is available for slot 8 and slot 10, as well as for slot 8 with a long stroke. Instead of tightening a slot nut with an Allen wrench, simply flip the eccentric lever—the clamp locks in place in seconds and can be released just as quickly. It is inserted from above at any point along the slot: raise the lever, press it into the slot against the spring force, rotate it 90 degrees, and flip the lever. To release, follow the steps in reverse order; the individual steps are shown in the instructions under Downloads.
When you flip the lever, an eccentric mechanism pulls the hammer nut upward against the undercut of the profile slot: There, it fits securely by form fit and is additionally clamped in place by friction through the clamping force. This allows you to apply a clamping force of approximately 2.5 kN with about 100 N of hand force, which securely holds workpieces and stops in place during fixture construction. Use the knurled ring to adjust the clamping range to the thickness of the component you are clamping between the clamp and the profile: 0 to 8 mm for the standard version, 3 to 12 mm for the long-stroke version. With a 44 mm overall height, or 47 mm for the long-stroke version, the clamp lies flat and barely protrudes into the work area. The base body is made of burnished steel, the hammer nut is galvanised, and the eccentric lever is made of powder-coated cast aluminum, all manufactured in Germany.
Here's how to use it
- Setting stops and guides: You secure workpieces, stops, and guide elements directly in the profile slot by flipping the lever, rather than threading in slot nuts and screwing them tight.
- Thicker components and deeper slots with a long stroke: With a 3- to 12-mm clamping range, the long-stroke version securely holds even thicker components, workpieces, tools, and materials. Thanks to its longer tie rod, it also engages with profiles and slotted tables that have deeper slots.
- Clamping brackets with slotted holes: Place the stop bracket and the holder with the slotted hole continuously in the desired position; the clamping range accommodates standard sheet metal thicknesses.
- Fixture and Equipment Construction: Modular assemblies can be installed and repositioned in seconds—both vertically and horizontally in side slots—and the clamping point moves along with the assembly without the need for setup tools.
- Combine fixed clamping points: Together with clamping brackets and stops, you can set up recurring positions that can be quickly adjusted as needed.
Does this fit your aluminum profile?
When ordering, select the version: Slot 8, Slot 10, or Slot 8 with a long stroke. The clamp fits Item profiles, Item-compatible profiles, and Bosch profiles, as well as other system profiles, slotted tables, and clamping plates with this slot width—the only determining factor is the slot width, not the profile size or the manufacturer.
If you need more clamping force or a larger clamping range, the Ø 30 mm toggle clamp with approximately 4 kN and up to 26 mm clamping range is the stronger choice. You can find the smaller size for slot 6, as well as the versions with external threads and a clamping nut for permanent installation in components, in the toggle clamp overview.
