Mafell UVA 115 E Orbital Sander at T-MAX

Window frames, muntins, rebates, narrow surfaces—and that corner where a round disc just won’t fit: The UVA 115 E is the orbital sander for edge and detail sanding. The 115 × 230-mm plate accepts hook-and-loop material and also holds unperforated roll paper straight from the roll—you can sand with whatever material you have on hand. The Delta 105 sanding plate is included for corners and profiles.

It also comes standard with the Mirka Abranet mesh (Mafell part number)—full-surface dust extraction instead of a pattern of holes—and the speed can be adjusted to the material using the “ continuously ” with a locking function, ranging from careful intermediate sanding of paint to high-speed operation. Its 450 W power and robust construction make it a workhorse: One professional on the forum reports using it almost daily for years.

• Reaching into the corner: Install the Delta Plate 105—profiles and inside corners without a round plate.
• Clamping roll paper: The mechanical clamping mechanism accommodates standard, unpunched paper—no specific system required.
• Low-dust operation: Mains-powered vacuum system, self-contained vacuum system with filter bag, or Ø 35 connection to the M vacuum cleaner.

Does this fit in your workshop?

Here’s the honest breakdown: If you mainly sand edges, rebates, and profiles, the UVA alone is enough—it handles both flat surfaces and corners in a single machine. If you do a lot of flat-surface sanding, you’ll need the EVA 150 E as well; the eccentric sander gets the job done faster in those cases. And if you’re doing nothing but delta-shaped work, Festool’s DTS 400 is the lighter, specialized solution—we’ll be honest with you about that. Mafell doesn’t offer a cordless sander; for installation, we recommend the third-party option listed on the EVA page.
