Our tools and machines are built to last. We use only high-quality components and have gained extensive experience in preventing problems in the workshop. That’s why we have no issues with warranty claims—even if they extend beyond the 2-year warranty period. We’re always looking for a good solution that works for both of us.

We have 100% of our replacement parts in stock.

100-series lumber in a single pass, cutting joists and purlins to length, ridge rafters with a 60° offset cut, on-roof insulation, and sandwich panels on the hall: The K 105-18 takes the cutting depth for timber framing away from the cable drum. 110 mm at 0°, 77 mm at 45°, and 55 mm at 60°—on the guide rail, it’s 104 mm. Two 18-V PowerTanks from the CAS inventory provide the power; they are not compatible with Festool or Bosch tools.

The Ø 280-mm blade with group-toothed design cuts through 100-mm cross-sections without wobbling, and the spring-loaded FLIPPKEIL prevents kickback. And here’s a fact we’re not hiding: 2.2 m/s² of vibration at the chipboard, compared to 0.7 for the K 85—the 280 series operates noticeably rougher.

Buying the Mafell saw at RUWI isn’t a given: We’re manufacturers ourselves—tools for woodworking professionals from Fluorn-Winzeln, 4 kilometers from the Mafell factory in Oberndorf am Neckar. We carry only what we can recommend from our own experience—and we deliberately draw the line on our product range where our practical experience ends.

Here's how to use it

  • 100-series KVH and BSH without cable: 110 mm free, 104 mm guided—in a single pass.
  • Cutting rafter ends: Mitered cuts up to 60° with a remaining depth of 55 mm.
  • Separating insulation and sandwich panels: on the roof and in the warehouse, where there are no electrical outlets.
  • Keep the following in the CAS inventory: two existing 18-V PowerTanks instead of a special system.

Does this fit in your workshop?

Here’s the honest question: If you rarely cut beyond 88 mm, the K 85-18 will be easier and quieter to use. Beyond that, you’re entering the realm of carpentry—the MKS line ranging from 130 to 185 mm, which we deliberately do not carry; the reasoning is explained on the page “What We Don’t Carry—and Why.” The same applies here: it’s available only as the PURE model, and the machine runs exclusively on two batteries—beginners should factor in a Power Set. The K 105 is the same saw but with a power cord.

You can read about why your vacuum should be Dust Class M in the knowledge article on wood dust extraction —and the Machine Advisor will help you find the right saw by asking you two or three questions.
