The idea behind it

This HPL-coated panel (120 x 80 cm) is just the thing if you want to give your lifting table a high-quality upgrade. The durable HPL coating is not only extremely scratch-resistant but also resistant to glue and solvents—just give it a quick wipe and you’re done. The precision 20-mmhole grid is CNC-milled to exact specifications and compatible with Festool and many other clamping systems. This saves you the hassle of drilling your own holes and ensures perfect accuracy, whether you’re gluing or clamping. By the way: Even colleagues with their own CNC machines often prefer this panel—it’s a real time-saver for the price.

The RUWI Basic Table Top is the perforated panel for the RUWI lifting table Basic—available separately for woodworkers who want to upgrade their existing lifting table with a hole grid, replace a worn-out panel, or equip their own base frame with a professional-grade work surface. 1,200 × 800 mm, 23 mm thick, low-warp birch multiplex with 4 mm HPL on both sides—the double-sided coating balances out stresses, ensuring the panel remains flat. Manufactured in Germany, 15.5 kg.

96 chamfered holes, Ø 20 mm, spaced at 96-mm intervals, precisely CNC-milled. This dimension is the established standard for hole patterns—96 mm is three times the 32-mm system used in cabinetry. Clamping bolts, stops, and clamps fit without play; repeat machining operations maintain dimensional accuracy—and the holes are pre-milled, saving you the time-consuming task of drilling them yourself. The HPL surface is scratch-resistant, slip-resistant, and resistant to moisture and acids—and glue does not adhere to it: cured residue simply flakes off.

Here's how to use it

  • Gluing and assembly: The panel serves as a clean surface—glue droplets simply pop off after curing, so there’s no need for newspaper or scraping.
  • Clamping Across the Grid: Drilling, grinding, fitting hardware—clamping bolts, stops, and quick-release clamps secure the workpiece in 96 positions.
  • Sawing with the guide rail: Grid-based stops align the rail—ensuring consistent, repeatable cuts on the workbench.
  • Replace the tabletop instead of buying a new table: You can replace a worn-out or sawed-off surface for a fraction of the price of a new table—the “ base frame ” keeps on working.
  • Upgrade Your DIY Projects: On your homemade workbench, the board becomes a dimensionally stable clamping surface—without a single drill hole.

Does this go with your base frame?

The tabletop fits on the RUWI lifting table -base frame and other compatible bases—including those from other manufacturers; the grid follows the 20-mm standard, so accessories from Festool MFT, Sauter Variobench, and the RUWI clamping elements are universally compatible. If you need more length, there’s the extendable Classic table top (up to 220 cm); for the fold-out double surface, there’s the Premium table top; the complete table is shown in the RUWI lifting tables.
