Here's what's included
• 1 × support rail with adhesive anti-slip coating
• 2 × clamping brackets with clamping bolt Ø 20 mm and screw
The RUWI support rail is a 120-cm-long, anodized aluminum profile (40 × 40 mm, 2.8 kg) with a permanently bonded anti-slip surface—the bonded, budget-friendly version of the RUWI support rails . The surface (6 mm) holds boards and panels in place through friction, so that sanding and edge finishing can often be done without additional clamps; and it can be replaced when worn.
It is secured using two clamping brackets with stainless steelclamping bolt Ø 20 mm, which you tighten with an Allen wrench (SW 6) at hole grid . The steel end caps, which are open on both sides, keep the profile groove clear for rail clamps such as the Bessey GTR or Festool FSZ.
Here's how to use it
- Sanding without a clamp: The workpiece rests on the sanding pad and stays in place due to friction—simply flip it over and continue sanding without having to re-clamp it.
- Fixed reference edge: When positioned transversely, the rail serves as a stop for repeatable machining.
- Beyond the edge: extended rails support long workpieces—for most jobs, you'll need two so that the piece rests on both sides.
- Clamp to the rail: Clamps in the end caps hold workpieces in a vertical or horizontal position.
Does this go with your table?
The rail fits any 20-mm hole-pattern table— RUWI lifting tables , Festool MFT, Sauter Variobench, and custom-built tables. If you want to secure tool-free via clamping lever using a thicker support base, the support rail with clamping lever is the alternative—the set includes two of them. Additional accessories are available in the lifting table system.
