Mafell DuoDübler DDF 40 MaxiMAX in the T-MAX

Two holes, one stroke, 32 mm spacing: The DuoDübler drills both dowel holes for a joint at the same time. A single round dowel can still rotate in the joint; only the second dowel makes the joint twist-resistant, eliminating the need for alignment when joining the pieces. Bottom to side, miter joint, partition wall, row of holes, hardware hole: Joints from 3 to 12 mm, in solid wood and panel materials, in cabinet and stair construction, in the workshop and on-site. 900 W, 8,000 rpm, 2.8 kg, drilling depth up to 40 mm. Dowels used are standard round dowels available from specialty retailers.

The flat design with a level base plate operates like a flat dowel router. Two spring-loaded stop pins in the base plate position the holes 15.5 mm from the edge of the workpiece, with repeatable accuracy and without the need for measuring or marking. The swivel stop can be adjusted to a height of up to 62 mm using a rotary knob and scale; the turret stop provides standard dimensions. For miter cuts, it swivels continuously from 0° to 90°, with detents at 22.5°, 45°, and 67.5°; it is guided on both sides and clamped centrally with a screw.

Here's how to use it

• Assembling cabinet bodies: Place the dowels against the edge, drill, and make sure both holes align.
• Center plate and series: The PAZ positioning pointer for alignment with the layout marks and the ZAG additional stop set are included.
• Far from the edge and on strips: The SA 320 side stop and the LA strip stop are included (MaxiMAX version).
• Hole patterns in a 32-grid: Hardware holes and hole patterns—use them to assemble entire pieces of furniture.
• Drill bits: 8 mm shank, drill bits ranging from 3 to 12.2 mm. Two 8 mm and two 6 mm drill bits are included; the 5 mm drill bit is sold separately; the decimal-step sizes 6.1, 8.1, 8.2, 10.1, 10.2, and 12.2 mm for a precise fit are available upon request.
• Dust extraction: 29 mm connection; dust extraction nozzle included. The reason why dust class M is recommended for wood dust is explained in the informational article on wood dust extraction.
