Plastic Insert Ring for RUWI router table

Brief description

The plastic insert ring is the wear part in the lid of RUWI router table Performance: It ensures a gap-free transition between the table opening and the router bit. You screw the ring—Ø 85 mm, made of machinable PE—into place using the four screws provided. The ring is pre-drilled; during the first run, the router bit enlarges the opening to match its own outer diameter. You’re familiar with this principle from the insert plate on a table saw: the gap between the tool and the opening is reduced to zero.

This has two benefits in everyday workshop use. Small and narrow workpieces can no longer tip over or get wedged in the gap—which means greater safety and cleaner edges at the milling site. And because there’s hardly any clearance around the milling cutter, the exhaust system works more effectively right at that spot. Once a ring has been milled out after many tool changes, you can screw in a new one in just a few simple steps—it’s best to keep a spare ring in your cabinet for each of your commonly used cutters. The insert ring is included with RUWI router table Performance; for the Basic, Classic, and Premium models, the standard insert ring (Ø 46 mm) is provided.
