Brief description
The plastic insert ring is the wear part that ensures a gap-free transition between the table opening and the router bit in the lid of the RUWI Classic Performance router table. You screw the ring—85 mm in diameter, made of machinable PE—into place using the four screws provided. When the machine is first started up, the router bit cuts its own opening, precisely matching its outer diameter. You’re familiar with this principle from the insert plate on a table saw: the gap between the tool and the opening is reduced to zero.
This has two benefits in everyday workshop use. Small and narrow workpieces can no longer tip over or get stuck in the gap—resulting in greater safety and cleaner edges at the milling point. And because there’s hardly any space left around the cutter, the dust extraction works better right at that spot. If the ring wears out after many tool changes, you can screw in a new one in just a few steps—it’s worth keeping a few of them in your cabinet. The insert ring is part of the RUWI Classic Performance Milling Table.
Possible applications
- Milling small and narrow workpieces—they cannot tip over or get stuck in the gap
- Seamless transition at the lid for cleaner edges at the milling point
- Improved chip removal thanks to minimized clearance around the cutter
- Wear part – can be replaced in just a few steps after numerous tool changes
