Brief description

When you’re cutting shapes or contours on a circular saw, the process is often cumbersome: marking the line, aligning it on the sliding carriage, holding it in place, cutting, and, if necessary, making adjustments. The Aigner Sägeboy takes care of this repetitive process for you. Once set up on the rip fence, you can cut shaped pieces cleanly and with consistent accuracy.

The Sägeboy attaches tool-free the rip fence of the circular saw. When used with a template or tracing guide, you can cut custom-shaped pieces to size in a single pass. You can also use it to trim protruding edges flush.

The guide rail, made of anodized aluminum, is 940 mm long and provides a stable support for the workpiece along its entire length. You scale the height using the T-handle, knurled nut, and scale . The scale you scale the same height again later without having to measure it anew. Depending on how the edge of the Sägeboy is positioned relative to the saw blade, you can cut flush with the guide or with a deliberate overhang, which you can then clean up neatly by milling or sanding.

This allows for the consistent production of shaped parts in a single pass, directly at the circular saw rather than through multiple steps.

Fits your saw

The Sägeboy is available in three versions, each designed to fit the clamping system of your saw:

  • Universal for standard rip stops. It is secured via a threaded hole with a knurled screw; on thin-walled stops, it can alternatively be secured with a nut.
  • Altendorf / Format 4 for Altendorf's rip stops, as well as Felder and Format 4, designed for clamping to the back of these stops.
  • Martin for Martin's parallel stops, also with rear clamping.

Applications

  • Pre-shaping workpieces such as balcony boards using a template for further processing on the router
  • Trim solid wood edge overhangs precisely to size directly on the circular saw after gluing
  • Make bevel cuts on workpieces directly on the circular saw without using an additional extension board on the rip fence
  • Saw veneer, HPL, or other coating overhangs flush with the edge using a fine saw blade, or prepare them with a slight setback for subsequent processing
