RUWI and Aigner
Let’s join forces. To make the workshop even better.
Brief description
When milling on a bench router with a conventional stop, there is always a gap in the guide near the tool. That is exactly where the workpiece becomes difficult to control, and that is also where the risk of the workpiece being pulled toward the router bit increases. At best, this results in an unsightly finish; at worst, your fingers could get caught in the tool. That is why, when milling, you should use a stop that is as continuous as possible to minimize the gap near the tool.
In practice, this gap is often filled with a shim. This works, but it's cumbersome—especially when the tool height or milling depth needs to be readjusted.
The AIGNER integral stop structurally encloses this area. Integrated guide ribs create a continuous guide surface even in the tool area. Unnecessary ribs are swung back, while necessary ribs close off the open space again, extending right up to the tool.
The clamping halves can be continuously adjusted to the tool diameter and tool height. The cassettes with the guide ribs are also height-adjustable. This allows the clearance around the tool to be reduced to the necessary amount—ensuring precise workpiece guidance and clearer adjustment.
This creates a continuous guide directly on the tool—without the need for a temporary workaround. That’s why some machine manufacturers, such as Martin, SCM, and Felder Format 4, already come equipped with the AIGNER Integral Stop right from the factory.
Additional variants and models are available. You can find a selection in the AIGNER catalog. If you have any questions about which model is right for you, please feel free to contact us.
Possible applications
- Milling of both long and very short workpieces with smooth, uninterrupted guidance against the stop
- Milling of fillings with large tool diameters, even with only a narrow contact area against the stop
- Setup and test milling without dismantling a temporary attachment solution
- Additional fixtures and pressure elements can be easily adapted
- Lower noise levels compared to a clapboard solution
