Which cutter is right for your project?

The Milling Cutter Advisor guides you from the workpiece to the right milling cutter in just a few questions.

The RUWI R6 rounding bit rounds off wood edges with a 6-mm radius—the medium rounding option in the series: clearly noticeable in the hand, without turning the edge into a design feature. The guide ball bearing (Ø 12.7 mm) runs along the workpiece edge and guides the cutter even along curved contours for which no stop fits.

The router bit is double-edged and carbide-tipped (HW, Z2), right-hand rotation, with diameters of 25 mm tool diameter and 13 mm working length; shank 8 mm, overall length 59 mm. It cuts softwood, hardwood, MDF, and laminated panels. If the ball bearing wears out, you can replace it—instead of replacing the entire router bit.

Here's how to use it

  • Rounding furniture and cabinet edges: the 6-radius is the all-purpose rounding for fronts, shelves, and sides—providing a good grip without adding bulk.
  • Stair treads and decorative elements: noticeably rounded edges where hands touch them every day.
  • Preparing MDF for painting: The rounded edge allows the paint to pool at the edge, where sharp edges would cause the paint to run.
  • Milling curved contours: The guide bearing follows the curve—the stop remains folded away.

Does this fit your router?

The shank requires an collet Ø 8 mm – it works just as well on the RUWI router table standard, in hand-held routers, bench routers, and on CNC machines; with a Ø 25 mm head, it’s also easy to guide freehand. On the table, you guide the workpiece past the stationary router bit – edge by edge with the same profile on the RUWI router tables.

Heavy-duty, round R8 to R12.7; subtle R2 to R5—the entire range provides an overview of RUWI 's milling tools.
