The RUWI toggle clamp (Ø 15 mm) secures workpieces, brackets, and stops tool-free in slot 6 of aluminum profiles, slotted tables, and clamping plates. Instead of tightening a slot nut with an Allen wrench, simply flip the eccentric lever—the clamp locks in place in seconds and can be released just as quickly. It is inserted from above at any point along the slot: Lift the lever, press it into the slot against the spring force, rotate it 90 degrees, and flip the lever. To release, follow the steps in reverse order; the individual steps are shown in the instructions under Downloads. As the smallest size in the series, it is designed for the narrow slot 6 and fits Item, Item-compatible, and Bosch profiles, as well as other system profiles with this slot width.
When you flip the lever, an eccentric mechanism pulls the hammer nut upward against the undercut of the profile slot: There, it fits securely by form fit and is additionally clamped in place by friction through the clamping force. This allows you to apply a clamping force of approximately 1.5 kN with about 90 N of hand force, which securely holds lighter workpieces, holders, and stops in place. You can adjust the clamping range from 0 to 6 mm using the knurled ring to match the thickness of the component you’re clamping between the clamp and the profile; with a 34 mm overall height, the clamp has a particularly low profile. The base body is made of steel, the hammer nut is galvanised, and the eccentric lever is made of powder-coated cast aluminum—all manufactured in Germany.
Here's how to use it
-
Installing stops and brackets: You can secure workpieces, brackets, and stops directly in slot 6 of your profile by flipping the lever, rather than threading them in slot nuts and screwing them in place.
-
Clamping brackets with slotted holes: Place the stop bracket and the holder with the slotted hole continuously in the desired position; the clamping range up to 6 mm covers standard sheet metal thicknesses.
-
Fixture and Equipment Manufacturing: Sensor and component holders can be repositioned in seconds—both vertically and horizontally in side slots—and the clamping point moves along with the assembly without the need for setup tools.
-
Mechanical Engineering and Prototyping: When you frequently change the assembly configuration, you save yourself the trouble of loosening and tightening screw connections every time you make a change.
-
Exhibition Stand Construction: Aluminum profile structures can be quickly assembled and disassembled because the clamps can be tightened and loosened without tools.
Does this fit your aluminum profile?
The clamp fits all aluminum profiles, slotted tables, and clamping plates with a slot width of 6 mm—whether they’re Item, Item-compatible, Bosch, or another profile system. The only factor that matters is the slot width, not the profile size or the manufacturer, so you don’t need to select a specific model when ordering.
If the toggle clamp needs to be securely mounted in a component—such as a stop, handle, or bracket—use the version with an external thread and a clamping nut. To get started, the Clamping System Starter Set slot 6 bundles toggle clamps and accessories into one set. You can find the larger sizes—Ø 20 mm and Ø 30 mm—for slot 8 and slot 10 in the toggle clamp overview.
