Which cutter is right for your project?

The Milling Cutter Advisor guides you from the workpiece to the right milling cutter in just a few questions.

RUWI 's R3 rounding bit rounds off wood edges with a 3-mm radius—creating a subtle, practical rounding: barely visible, but clearly noticeable where a sharp edge would be bothersome. The guide ball bearing (Ø 12.7 mm) runs along the edge of the workpiece and guides the cutter even along curved contours for which no stop fits.

The router bit is double-edged and carbide-tipped (HW, Z2), right-hand rotation, with diameters of 19 mm tool diameter and 10 mm working length; shank 8 mm, overall length 56 mm. It cuts softwood, hardwood, and laminated panels. If the ball bearing wears out, you can replace it—instead of replacing the entire router bit.

Here's how to use it

  • Countertops and window sills: The 3-radius design eliminates the sharp edge without altering the clean lines of the surface.
  • Round off edges before oiling and varnishing: the slight curve keeps the oil and varnish layers on the edge, whereas sharp edges cause the oil and varnish to bleed through.
  • Freehand use on installed furniture: the compact Ø-19 head runs smoothly when guided by hand—ideal for touch-ups on the job site.
  • Batch processing on the table: On the “ router table ,” you guide the workpiece past the stationary milling cutter—edge by edge, with the same profile.

Does this fit your router?

The shank requires an collet Ø 8 mm – at RUWI router table Standard; it is also compatible with hand-held routers, bench routers, and CNC machines. The compatible tables are shown in the RUWI router tables.

The R4 through R12.7 are robust and round; the R2 is even finer—the entire series provides an overview of RUWI ’s milling tools.
