R2 rounding cutter with guide bearing

RUWI 's R2 rounding cutter rounds off wood edges with a 2-mm radius—the finest rounding in the series: It simply breaks the edge, nothing more. The workpiece’s line remains exactly as drawn. The ball bearing (Ø 12.7 mm) runs along the workpiece edge and guides the cutter even along curved contours for which no stop fits.

The router bit is double-edged and carbide-tipped (HW, Z2), right-hand rotation, with diameters of 17 mm tool diameter and 10 mm working length; shank 8 mm, overall length 56 mm. It cuts softwood, hardwood, and laminated panels. If the ball bearing wears out, you can replace it—instead of replacing the entire router bit.

Here's how to use it

• Standard edge rounding: Every visible edge is given the same 2-mm radius—to prevent splinters when touched, without the rounding being noticeable as a design feature.
• Modern furniture with clean lines: straight fronts and cabinet bodies retain their sharpness to the eye—only the hand can feel the difference.
• Preparing edges for oil and varnish: the minimal rounding keeps the coating on the edge where sharp edges would otherwise break through.
• Freehand on installed furniture: the small Ø-17 head runs smoothly when guided by hand—a quick pass around all edges before handing it over.
