When milling on a bench router with a conventional stop, there is always a gap in the guide in the tool area. That is exactly where the workpiece becomes difficult to control, and that is exactly where the risk increases that it will be pulled toward the milling cutter—at best, this results in an unsightly finish; at worst, your fingers could get caught in the tool. In practice, the gap is often closed with an extension board: This works, but it becomes cumbersome as soon as the tool height or milling depth needs to be adjusted.

The AIGNER Integral Stop closes off this area structurally: Integrated, fold-down guide ribs form a continuous guide surface even in the tool area—ribs that are not needed swing back, while those that are needed close off the clearance right up to the tool. The stop halves and guide bar cassettes are adjustable continuously in tool diameter and height. Machine manufacturers such as Martin, SCM, and Felder Format 4 use this stop as standard equipment.

Here's how to use it

  • Safe milling of short parts: Even very short workpieces run uninterrupted against the stop—the critical gap where parts tip over has been eliminated.
  • Filling with large tools: When using a large-diameter cutter with a narrow contact area, the guide remains continuous.
  • Setup without modifications: Test milling, readjust, continue milling—no faceplate that needs to be removed every time you make a correction; it also runs more quietly.
  • Adapting accessories: Additional devices and pressure elements are attached directly to the stop.
