100 Years of OPO Oeschger – a third-generation family business
The story kicks off in 1926 when Paul Oeschger founded his own trading company in Zurich-Oerlikon, naming it OPO – short for Oeschger Paul Oerlikon. The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. In 1934, his brother Max joined, handling catalogs and advertising. The second generation, Paul Oeschger junior and Peter Oeschger, expanded sales across Switzerland starting in 1948, built the logistics center in Kloten in 1972, and introduced IT that same year. In 1989, Peter Oeschger launched "OPO-Direct," an electronic ordering system that was the precursor to today's online shop. Since 1998, Patrick Oeschger, representing the third generation, has been at the helm; he's been CEO since 2006 and owner since 2016.

Around 1,800 packages and 230 general cargo shipments leave the facility daily, and 440,000 customer orders are processed annually – with a delivery readiness of 98 percent.
