Kaul Machinery
RUWI In the Lower Rhine region: Maschinen Kaul in Düsseldorf
As a tool manufacturer based in the Black Forest, we work with specialty retailers who carry our tools. In Düsseldorf, that’s Maschinen Kaul: a family-owned business that has been equipping companies in the wood and plastics processing industries since 1919—not just as a supplier, but by offering consultation, delivery, training, and its own workshop for service needs. This page explains what you’ll find at our location in Düsseldorf-Heerdt and why it’s worth the trip.
RUWI at Maschinen Kaul
Maschinen Kaul offers our under-table milling machines in the Basis 1 model as well as the S, M, and L models—mobile milling machines that come equipped with pre-installed tools, so you don’t have to change them out. We also offer clamping plates and clamping tools, lifting and work tables, and the safety system for sliding table saws.

Since 1919: A Festool partner from the very beginning
The story begins in 1919, when Heinrich Kaul founded the company in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel. One of its first authorized distributors was Maschinenfabrik Gottlieb Stoll from Esslingen—which later became the parent company of Festool. Maschinen Kaul continues to distribute their products to this day, a supplier relationship that has existed since the company’s inception. After the war, the company grew rapidly, moving several times to larger buildings within Düsseldorf, and in 1978 it moved to its current location on Monschauer Straße in Heerdt, with over 3,000 m² of warehouse and showroom space and two in-house repair shops. In 2019, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Today, the company is run by the fourth generation—the founder’s great-grandchildren, Christian and Heiner Butt—together with Hans-Jürgen Marx, with a commitment to thinking in terms of generations rather than quarters.
Two locations, approximately 75 employees
The headquarters in Düsseldorf-Heerdt serves Düsseldorf, the Lower Rhine, the Rhineland, and North Rhine-Westphalia—located on the left bank of the Rhine, easily accessible via the nearby highway, with parking right outside the door. Since 2010, Maschinen Kaul Nordwest in Neuenkirchen-Vörden has been serving northwestern Lower Saxony, including the areas around Osnabrück, Vechta, and the Emsland region. With about 75 employees, the company is large enough to offer a comprehensive product range and fast service—and close enough to get to know its customers personally.
Product Line: Wood and Plastic Combined
The product range extends from stationary machines to small machines and power tools, as well as machine tools and CNC tools, hand tools, measurement technology, and workshop supplies, along with fastening and joining technology, consumables, adhesives, storage racks, and workshop equipment. What sets Maschinen Kaul apart from some specialty woodworking retailers is that plastic processing has been a key consideration from the very beginning—an advantage if your business works with both materials.
For hand-held machines, the shelves feature Festool, Protool, Mafell, Makita, Fein, Lamello, and Mirka; for stationary machines, Martin, Striebig, the HOMAG Group, Heesemann, Höcker Polytechnik, and Untha—ranging from the “ sliding table saw ” to panel saws and edge banding machines, all the way to dust extraction and shredding equipment. In addition, there’s the in-house brand Kaul Tooltechnic, offering router bit and saw blade sets, Forstner bits, and hand tools—the affordable alternative for machine tools.
Sales, Used Machinery, and Service
A machine is an investment in your company’s competitiveness—not just an off-the-shelf purchase. That’s why Maschinen Kaul starts with objective consultation: what workpieces, what materials, what production volumes, how much space, and what budget. The recommendation is based on these factors—not the other way around. This is followed by delivery, installation, and training on the machinery.
Not every investment has to be new: Used machinery comes partly from trade-ins and partly from business liquidations—and is fully functional. And conversely, anyone looking to sell a machine—for example, due to a generational transition or a business liquidation—will find a buyer here.
If something goes wrong, we have two in-house repair and maintenance workshops equipped with crane systems: customer service, maintenance, repairs, and replacement parts—all from a single source—plus training on machines and software at our in-house training center or at your location. Both locations also regularly host multi-day in-house trade shows—featuring manufacturers on-site, demonstrations of nesting, material mixing, and software integration, and the opportunity to try out equipment yourself before purchasing it.

It also covers Altendorf, Felder with X-Roll, Format 4 and Hammer, Panhans, SCM, as well as Holzkraft and Minimax. The system has been tested by the German Social Accident Insurance Association (BGHM) and awarded the DGUV seal—and it’s on display in Heerdt; you can discuss the specific configuration for your saw directly there.
