RUWI at Kirchner's

Kirchner carries our woodworking tools: the RUWI router tableheight-adjustable lifting and work tables, the safety system for panel saws, and RUWI drilling table and clamping tools.

The " router table " is on display in Gerolzhofen; Kirchner will show you the other systems by appointment. Since the team consists of the same people who work in the showroom, you'll get the same information over the phone as you would in person.

New machines, used machines, in-house service

Whether it’s sawing, planing, routing, drilling, or doweling—at Kirchner, you’ll find both new and used tools all in one place. Our new product lineup includes Altendorf, Festool, Mafell, Makita, Bosch, Fein, Knipex, and Tormek; each tool comes with a detailed technical description so you know exactly what you’re getting before you buy.

The used equipment division is Kirchner’s real strength: there are always 450 to 500 machines in stock, cleaned and tested during a trial run. For many workshops, this is the practical way to upgrade to a larger machine without having to pay the full price of a new one.

And if something does break down: Kirchner has its own repair shop with skilled staff who maintain and repair the machines. Customers who buy there can also have their machines serviced there—which keeps the process streamlined and the shop running smoothly.

Shipping within Germany takes one to three business days—or you can pick up your order and take a look around the showroom while you’re at it.

On the “ sliding table saw ,” hands are at the greatest risk. The DGUV statistics “Workplace Accidents 2024” report 685,543 reported workplace accidents, 32.5 percent of which involved the hands—nearly one in three accidents. For over 25 years, Gerd Kirchner has been collecting old woodworking machines, hand tools, and literature. Spread across approximately 500 m², his collection includes over 100 machines and devices—many of which are one-of-a-kind—as well as about 2,000 hand tools and more than 60,000 pages of technical literature, chronicling the evolution of woodworking over several centuries.

This aligns with what we have in common with Kirchner: Good tools deserve respect, regardless of when they were made. Here, you can experience that philosophy firsthand.

Will the RUWI sawing system work with my sliding table saw?

For most of them, yes. Our safety system for panel saws is designed for Altendorf, Martin, Felder (with X-Roll), Format 4, Hammer, Panhans, SCM, Holzkraft, and Minimax, among others. Altendorf is a Kirchner brand. The system has been tested by the German Social Accident Insurance Association (BGHM) and awarded the DGUV seal of approval. You can determine which model is right for your saw during a consultation in Gerolzhofen.

New or used—which makes more sense for my workshop?

That depends less on the price than on the expected lifespan. If you’re going to run a machine at full capacity every day for years, you’re usually better off with a new one that comes with a full warranty. If you’re just bringing a new process into your operation or covering a temporary peak in demand, a certified used machine will get you there faster, and you can upgrade later. Kirchner carries both options and has no interest in selling you the more expensive one—let them give you an honest assessment of your needs.
