RUWI near Augsburg: Ballas in Aichach
As a tool manufacturer based in the Black Forest, we work with specialty retailers who carry our tools. Near Augsburg, that’s Ballas GmbH in Aichach-Ecknach: family-run since 1993, with approximately 1,800 m² of showroom space in the Wittelsbach region—and featuring “Drechselparadies,” a department unlike any other in southern Germany. This page tells you what you’ll find there from us and who to call.
RUWI at Ballas
Ballas carries our woodworking tools: the RUWI router tableheight-adjustable lifting and work tables, the safety system for panel saws, the RUWI drilling table and clamping tools.
The router table is on display at the exhibition in Aichach; Ballas shows the other systems by appointment—it’s best to schedule a time in advance so that the demonstration can be prepared.
"In Aichach, we have many products on site that are showcased by the knowledgeable team. Ballas' outstanding service reaffirms our commitment to working together."
– Florian Ruggaber from RUWI
From a specialty store in Kühbach to the Maschinenhaus in Aichach
Ballas was founded in 1993 by Heinrich Ballas in Kühbach, in the Aichach-Friedberg district, as a small specialty retailer of woodworking machines and tools. In 2015, the company became Ballas GmbH and moved about seven kilometers to Maxstraße 4 in Aichach-Ecknach; to mark its 25th anniversary in 2018, the showroom was expanded once again—it now covers approximately 1,800 m². The company remains family-run, and your point of contact is Managing Director Jürgen Ballas.
The Woodturning Paradise: Southern Germany's Largest Woodturning Exhibition
What sets Ballas apart from other machine tool dealers is woodturning. Its dedicated “Woodturning Paradise” department offers everything from small tabletop lathes to heavy-duty XXL machines, along with woodturning tools and clamping devices from Drechselmeister, Robert Sorby, Hager, Crown, and Teknatool. And because a woodturning lathe is just a piece of furniture without practice, Ballas offers woodturning courses year-round at its own training center—in small groups, for both beginners and advanced students.
Product Line and Service
From classic woodworking machines to the smallest hand tools: Ballas carries new and used machines of all sizes—band saws, crosscut and panel saws, planers, sanders, drill presses, and long-hole drilling machines, table routers, edge banding machines, gluing presses, and CNC systems—as well as power tools and hand tools, dust extraction systems, workshop equipment, workshop and school furnishings, and technical literature. The product range includes brands such as Felder, FORMAT-4, Hammer, Stürmer, Holzmann, Mafell, Festool, Tormek, Shaper, and SawStop, as well as specialty tools from manufacturers like Kreg and Stubai. The Trusted Shops-certified online store lists over 10,000 items; thanks to a large warehouse, most of them are available for immediate pickup.
When it comes to extraction technology, Ballas goes beyond simply selling products and also handles the planning and installation of complete systems—which is particularly appealing to businesses that are setting up an entire workshop and need to coordinate the extraction system, machinery, and workstations.
Our in-house service technicians deliver purchased machines right to your workshop, install them, and commission them together with you, including a training session—even if the installation site is in the basement or attic. The team answers many questions over the phone; if that’s not enough, a technician will come to you anywhere in the country. Repairs are performed regardless of brand, either in our own workshop or at the customer’s location, using original replacement parts. You’ll receive advice from people who know the trade from their own experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the RUWI sawing system work with my sliding table saw?
For most of them, yes. Our safety system for panel saws is designed, among other things, for Felder models with X-Roll, Format 4, and Hammer—exactly the brands that Ballas carries. It also covers Altendorf, Martin, Panhans, SCM, Holzkraft, and Minimax. The system has been tested by the German Social Accident Insurance Association (BGHM) and awarded the DGUV seal of approval. You can find out which model is right for your saw during a consultation in Aichach.
Can I try out RUWI in Aichach?
The router table is on display at the exhibition. Ballas will demonstrate the lifting table, sawing system, and drilling table by appointment—a call to +49 8251 8799-0 will save you a wasted trip, and the demonstration will be prepared if you make an appointment.
I can't make it by 5 p.m. on weekdays—are there appointments available outside of business hours?
Yes, by appointment. Ballas also offers consulting appointments outside of regular business hours—especially for businesses where the workshop is in operation during the day, this is often the only realistic option.
I'm not in Bavaria—where else can I find RUWI ?
We work with specialty retailers throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Call us at +49 7402 8414, and we'll let you know who carries " RUWI " near you.
