RUWI at Werkplaatstechniek

Werkplaatstechniek is our importer and authorized dealer for the Netherlands and carries the RUWI product line: the RUWI router tables in sizes S, M, and L—ranging from single-spindle machines for stationary and mobile use to the top-of-the-line multi-spindle model, which comes with pre-set tools ready to use instead of requiring you to change them out. Also included are lifting and work tables, the safety system for sliding table saws, and RUWI drilling table and clamping tools.

The router table is on display at the Demo Center in Steenwijk; Werkplaatstechniek will show the other systems by appointment—a quick call before you head out will let you know what’s currently set up.

A specialty store run by professionals for professionals

Jan René Koster founded Werkplaatstechniek in Steenwijk in 2004. What began as a small venture has grown into a specialized retailer for the woodworking industry, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024—with dedicated representatives who have hands-on experience with woodworking and will still be available in ten years to provide advice, replacement parts, and service.

The Demo Center in Steenwijk: Try It Out Instead of Just Looking

Spanning just over 300 m², the showroom features a cross-section of the product line available for hands-on testing and demonstrations, ranging from handheld tools to stationary equipment—including the first Mafell Powershop in the Netherlands, a dedicated brand area right in the showroom. Especially with tools that you can only truly evaluate in use, this lets you try out what works best for your job instead of ordering based on a spec sheet. Over 5,000 items are permanently in stock.

And this often leads to more: During demo days, manufacturers bring their experts to Steenwijk to demonstrate new products live—an opportunity to compare multiple solutions under real-world conditions in just a few days.

Brands and Online Stores

Werkplaatstechniek is the importer for the Netherlands of Mafell, Lamello, Fein, Lignatool, Metabo, Milwaukee, Pitzl, and RUWI —in addition to Festool and Makita, Klingspor and Mirka abrasives, and fastening and joining technology. If you want to reorder, you’ll find a network of specialized online stores that are all supplied from the same warehouse in Steenwijk—for woodworking, for example, houtbewerkingswinkel.nl. This way, you can get accessories for your machine from the same partner without having to switch suppliers.

Purchasing, Delivery, and Service

A machine is an investment in your company’s competitiveness—not just an off-the-shelf purchase. That’s why Werkplaatstechniek starts with a consultation: what workpieces, what materials, what quantities, how much space, and what budget. This information forms the basis for our recommendation. If you prefer, we’ll deliver the machine directly to the job site if your business doesn’t have time to pick it up—and Werkplaatstechniek will handle the warranty registration for you right away.

If something goes wrong, our in-house technical department—staffed by trained technicians—will handle repairs, including providing the appropriate replacement and wear parts. Instead of sending a defective device far away, you have a point of contact who understands the technology.
