From a sharpening service to a leading trading company – 50 years of Miller

The story begins in 1975, when Friedrich Miller took over a tool grinding shop in Leutkirch and turned it into a machinery and tool dealership. In 1984, Miller moved into the new Löwencenter in Leutkirch and became the authorized dealer for the Felder Group—a significant step for the machinery sales business. In 1988, new premises were opened in Leutkirch-Adrazhofen, followed in 1993 by a new building in Aichstetten, where the company’s first in-house trade show took place in 1994 and the showroom later expanded to 2,500 m². In 1997, a branch was added in Mönchweiler in the Black Forest. Starting in 2002, Miller added Festool to its product range, followed later by DeWalt and Makita. In 2018, the company returned to its founding location in Leutkirch: a 4,000 m² experience center for woodworkers was created, along with a 3,500 m² logistics center. In 2025, Miller celebrated its 50th anniversary with nearly 100 employees.

The Miller Experience: See the machines in action

At the heart of the concept is the Miller Experience Center—a 4,000-square-meter exhibition space at the company’s headquarters in Leutkirch, where visitors can touch and try out the entire range of machines and tools. From small planers and woodturning lathes to CNC machining centers, the machines are ready for use, with many top brands featuring their own demonstration stations. This allows you to experience how a machine really works before making a purchase—a real advantage, especially for larger investments. This is complemented by personalized advice from experienced experts on site.

Miller online store mima.de: Quality meets variety

Miller has been operating the online store mima.de since 2016. There you’ll find over 50,000 items in stock—ranging from extraction systems and power tools to used machinery, as well as workwear, consumables, and accessories. A large warehouse ensures high availability, so orders are usually ready to ship quickly. In this way, the store complements the in-store experience with a digital channel.

Our product range: everything you need for wood and plasticworking

Miller is a one-stop shop for woodworking equipment: stationary wood and plastic processing machines of all sizes—circular saws, routers, planers, CNC machining centers, panel saws, and specialty machines—as well as power tools from leading brands, including Felder, Festool, Makita, Mafell, DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Fein. In addition, the company offers extraction technology, safety and precision accessories, used machines, and hand and machine tools. Rather than competing with home improvement stores, Miller has positioned itself as a quality-oriented full-range supplier with over 50,000 items today—catering to the ambitious hobbyist workshop as well as the medium-sized woodworking shop.

Service: More Than Just a Supplier

One of Miller’s hallmarks is its exceptional service. More than 15 in-house service technicians handle delivery using the company’s own fleet of vehicles, as well as setup and training, on-site maintenance and repairs, and installations—such as those for extraction systems. A spare parts and maintenance service is also available for machines purchased decades ago—ensuring a long service life for your investment. The product consultants are experienced tradespeople themselves and provide support ranging from workshop planning and exhaust system installation to special requirements. Leutkirch im Allgäu – deeply rooted in the region

For Miller, Leutkirch im Allgäu is more than just a corporate headquarters. The return to the company’s founding location in 2018 was also a commitment to the home region—it was just a few kilometers away that it all began. Thanks to the excellent highway connections in the triangle between Lake Constance, the Allgäu, and Upper Swabia, customers come to Leutkirch from all over Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, as well as from Austria and Switzerland. Regional engagement is part of the picture: Together with the woodturning association Drehpunkt Allgäu, Miller organizes woodturning workshops, for example.
